In the latter half of 2007, my wife Virginia Thurston and I distilled our philosophy of work and life into eight written pieces (only some of them can be called 'essays') and combined them in a thin volume about Þingið, the self-funded think tank. We had a hundred copies printed, and distributed some of them to friends, family, colleagues and some long-shot strangers, in the hope of initiating discussion. (See excerpts at right)
The book was not received enthusiastically in early 2008, but in 2009 it has received considerable interest and support. Here is a pdf version: book.pdf
Þingið is hosting a wiki about New Ideas relevant to Iceland's current economic state. The focus of this forum is about practical ideas which could carry us through the world financial crisis which has hit Iceland so hard.
